The Music Player is back up!

On a positive note, I managed to get the Sound Cloud music player back up and  displaying properly again. If you click on the menu to the upper left (3 little lines), the side bar will open up and there it is.

I'm using the audio music player directly from Sound Cloud this time as opposed to the Cloud Player had had embedded for the since the beginning. I like the Sound Cloud player in fact, it's direct, no third party and no ads getting in the way of the play list. So this is a good change.

And to my surprise, a pleasant one at that, was to see that one of my songs, in fact the only full song I posted to Sound Cloud entitled, "My Girl (is a Kinky Girl)", had over 13,400 plays. It's been up there for a while but still... Wow! That's pretty cool huh!?😀

Granted it's not 13.4 million listens like the major artist get but then I'm not a major artist. No promotion to speak of, I only posted it to Sound Cloud so I could add them to my blog. So it was a pleasant surprise to see. That someone actually listened to my music. Over 13,000 someones in fact. If you were one of those someones, Thank you for listening. I hope you enjoyed it and the other snippets I uploaded of my music. It made me smile. So cheers to you!

If you haven't heard the song, and care to give it a listen, it's the last song in the play list if you want to skip straight to it or just let it play through the other 6 snippets of my music. My music has different flavors so you might get a taste of something you like.

And just to let those new to my music know, though I may or may not have mentioned it before on this blog.

I play drums, or did. I started writing some music in hopes of creating an album years back. Unfortunately, it seemed every time I was just making headway, either in Music or CG, something would happen and I'd have to put things on hold. And unfortunately, it's still on hold to this day. One day I hope to finish the album if not the MV's that go with the music.

Band name stated simply M-X-D.
Why I chose that band name I don't know exactly. It was different. Most don't know what it means or stands for and the question would always be there as to it's meaning especially since I used small x's in-between to spell it out. It was different... short. Catchy I suppose. Had to do with the way I create music in a sense... I can't remember the exact reason or what I was thinking at the time.

MXD stands for, or is the abreviation for "Mixed" on one hand, or for a deeper meaning, "Maximum  Dyadic", mush them together and you have MxXxD. I'll let you anylize the crap out of it from there for a deeper meaning if you must.

Album name was to be or is, "Sneek-a-Peak" or more accurately, "go ahead... Sneek-a-Peek"

The songs all have a story or meaning behind them... as many do.  Well most do, some I suppose were created just out of feel good jam I had going on in my head. And a personal meaning might have been put to them after wards.

"My Girl" I was working on a animation MV for. Or at least hoping to create. I had and have it to this day all story boarded out in my head. I had worked on creating main characters for it.  I posted a video that had a just one of several mock-ups of the girl character concepts I had come up with for the MV back in 2011. Which you can see below:

In fact when I first uploaded this very video to YouTube, which was right before Google took YouTube over and run by Yahoo at the time, they banned it. And I had a little mini war with them about it. Posting another video in retaliation... which, they didn't ban. Since then of course as I mentioned Google took over YouTube and I was able to re-post it without issue.

In 2012 I again worked on the character creation and came up with yet another character version. I posted a transitional collage of sorts in my CG Arena portfolio.

And did a art piece using that latest character mock-up which came out pretty cool entitled "Screaming Guitar Solo - the Climax".

If you take the vision I have for My Girl, the video and music together, it may not be quite what you think it is about with the music alone. My Girl is more a dedication to all the girlfriends I've had rolled up into one tribute. It's not just about smoking hot sex. And there's a twist at the end right before you hear that last moan and "Hi". A twist that's been used before and some may have experienced before. I have so... it was perfect for the song ending.

The beginning of the song is... how do I explain it?
Have you ever met a woman that on first sight they just blow you away...? I mean they take your breath away at first sight and stop you in your tracks? I have... several times. And each time was different from the others. Each time was unique unto itself. As was each girl/woman. In fact, the last time it happened to me was about the time I came up with this song. Though that time I didn't get the girl, (because I didn't try as I normally would)  but I had that same rush and let her know she did in my own way. ( I may be ugly but I'm not shy when it comes to certain things.) In fact, I spent the next hour with her. She was a delight to be with. Not in a trophy kind of way, as a proud as hell to be with her kinda way. As we walked with her on my arm, others were quite smitten with her as well. She was smokin hot no doubt. She's actually quite famous now. Anyway... That's pretty much how the beginning of the song starts. It's the moment of that type meeting between two people. That rush you feel, when your heart starts pounding... experience that feeling once and you'll know what I mean.

His response to her asking "What's your fantasy?" is the bass line.
Then the song and story continues from there. And yeah, it's passionate, unbridled, and meant to be on the edge... and then there's that delightful twist in the end. It's a good twist not a bad one. A cool one actually... I'm grinning in thinking back on the times I've experienced it with my ladies. It's a pretty cool feeling of realization I think would an apt way to describe it without giving the twist away.

I have a few versions of the song. Different Instruments, different tempos, slightly different sound to them, different lead solo's in some cases. That's the one I ended up sharing and posted, while I worked on finalizing the sound some more.

I tried to compose music I would enjoy listening to. And listen to more than once. Lol And I do listen to it, in as much as I listen to a plethora of other styles and genres of music.

If asked, my favorite to date of all the music I've written would have to be "Evening Coffee". Evening Coffee was written late at night while drinking coffee as the title suggests. It was a very tuff piece to compose. And the first I'd tried to do so in surround sound. The drums are very complicated as they are in several of my compositions, but made more so since it's composed to be played in surround sound. There's a lot going on. But I like it, it's a hard driving fusion composition with lots of syncopation. Killer bass riffs and fun breaks. It's a driving song. Hit the open highway white line fever pumping kinda music.

Hopefully one day I'll again have the gear and be able to take the time to not only finish the music side but finish the animation and video side that goes with the music as well. If really like to be able to finish this project before it becomes completed antiqued. Or I do. Lol 😀

As a creator or song writer... one can only hope others enjoy listening to what you create too. I hope you have if you gave it a listen.

Anyway, that's a little about the music side of me to get you up to speed.

Till next post,
Cheers...
