Folding Stool and Lazy Susan Mash-Up

What do you get when you merge a folding stool with a 24" Lazy Susan?

Something pretty cool actually...

I'm piecing together things I feel I can use for a little photo studio of sorts and one day while browsing the thrift store I saw this pretty nice looking folding stool. It's black, padded in right place, the perfect height and when folded it has a small footprint that makes it easily stored when not in use. And the price that day made it even more appealing. Once cleaned up, it's really rather nice stool.

One of the things I liked was it has a simple lock for when it's opened up.

On yet another venture into the thrift store while donating some items a 24" Lazy Susan caught my eye. I use Lazy Susan's for painting and was working on something a little larger and required a larger Lazy Susan. And at 50% off that day, hey, why not.

I cover my supports when I do paint so I'm not worried about ruining the wood. On the back of this particular Lazy Susan was a 12" base.

The one thing I didn't like about the stool is it didn't swivel. And one day in looking at the two sitting side by side the gears starting turning in my head and I wondered, would the lazy susan base fit this into the recess of the padded area of this stool? So I took them apart. Pad off the stool and swivel base off the Lazy Susan.

The swivel base fit perfectly into the stool recess. Great! It was just a matter of drilling some new holes and mounting it. Easy enough.

Then mount the padded seat to the swivel and now I had a folding swivel seat stool for the photo studio whenever I get that done...(?)

But I was left with this 24" wood round.
And I thought. Why not make it clip on the the seat and it'll be a Lazy Susan table too!
So I did. And that's what it merged into.
A folding swivel stool for photography and Lazy Susan table in one.

And there you have it. A stool for for model or product in one that folds and stores away when not in use.

Great for a photo studio, a work bench. It can hold a model, products or snacks afterwards or condiments at the barbeque.

And something I can use for spray painting if I so choose. A pretty cool mashup if I say so myself.. and I do. 😀

Till next time,
Stay creative, stay Happy!
Cheers...
