ch-ch-cha-Changes!

That's right folks, ch-ch-cha-Changes!

What changes you ask? Well I'm here to tell you.

A month ago I posted about joining Facebook. Within I mentioned about a warning notice I received from Google about this blog.

A couple days ago, I posted my views, likes, dislikes after being Facebook and some more about Google pertaining to this blog.

I'll go over each point one by one as this might make for some interesting reading in an action/reaction sort of way.

And I don't think Facebook or Google looked at what I said and implemented some big change.. No, I really don't. But it's a possiblity.. only one possiblity. It's possible it's a little more complicated than that since, I honestly don't know all the players in this little game. And once I go through it all... your vision will become clearer... Or it may blur it depending on your perspective of things.

As mentioned in a prior post, I know for a fact the coding on this blog design is near flawless. Originally designed by someone else, I went through and made my own changes. And that was a time I was really focused on high dynamic web design, so I know the coding will last centuries before any changes need be made. You're just going to have to trust me on that. And it does have a bearing on the rest of what you'll read in this post which is the only reason I'm mentioning it. So keep that in mind.

Let's go through the list of ch-ch-cha-Changes! And the chain of events and you'll get a grasp of why I even made this post.

1) I joined Facebook.. I received a warning from Google about my robot text file within 24hrs about this blog.

2) 48hrs later, the blog is pulled from the Google search.. but only Google's search engine. Bing and others still had it listed.

3) I make the post announcement that I joined Facebook and mention that fact and that I know for a fact that this blogs robot text file is fine without checking it. That I'm not changing a thing.

4) A week later, the blog is re-listed in Google's search engine, just not ranked as high. It's since been climbing back up and ranks 3rd when searching my name where it use to rank No. 1. No biggie, it's back in the listing is my point.

5) 1 week passes I receive yet another warning from Google about the blog, this time, in reference to it not being mobile friendly.. The text is too small.

I'm going expound a little on this one in case you didn't read my other post A month on Facebook where I go into it.

This blog like most of my website designs I created is not written with defined text and borders as most are. In short and in laymen's terms it works off something similar to percentages...

When you open it in your browser it looks at the screen size and makes it's determination as to what size the text should be and borders should be. That way it remains readable. No matter whether you're viewing on a smartphone, a tablet, laptop, desktop, tiny or big screen TV. It will automatically adjust for screen size. It's a little truck I learned long ago that prevents headaches in the future.

Hopefully you understand what I mean.

Given that, I had noticed for some time this blog stopped displaying properly. Might of been a change made by Blogger, the browsers, or something in-between.

This is relevant so just try to keep all this in mind and follow along...

6) I make the post "A Month on Facebook" in which I stated the previous along with several points on Facebook. And this is where it gets real interesting.

I know the coding is correct with the blog. Possibly I need to re-upload it I say. But instead I opt to just go with a generic mobile template Blogger offers.

I also mentioned my music thing to the left wasn't working.

7) Within 24hrs I noticed some funky stuff going on when viewing my blog via mobile in desktop mode. Understand a good website developer checks a site with various browsers as do I. I have around 7 on my mobile device. (Btw, Edge mobile was the only one to display it correctly)

What I mean by funky is.. the music player came back, the borders where starting to resize correctly though not totally, the opening frames you see where starting to rearrange themselves like they were being viewed on a different size display. The text was no longer super tiny, it was readable. The images weren't centering... Weird stuff.

8) I had mentioned in that post that Facebook keeps a full copy of every edit you made when editing. That I thought it was stupid that others could view this. - I log into Facebook the next day make a post, check the edit history and receive a notice about Facebook privacy settings. Oh looky there, now I can select who can view the edit history. They didn't remove it. But they made it where you can hide it. Okay, I'll hide it.

9) I made this little 5 second video and upload it to Facebook to try out their video upload feature. Boom it's online and viewable. But... 15 minute's later I made a better, slightly longer full HD one. I think 10 seconds long. Good for Facebook I felt. I upload it. It says it received it it'll display shortly. Okay.. I'll delete the other one and do so. But the second one uploaded despite it saying it received the file never appears.

And further all my other posts when you first long in... It's a blank screen with the exception of "What's on your mind". The rest is blank.

I upload yet another video.. different subject matter. Again I see the video is uploaded successfully. Just wait.

Hours later. Nothing...
And the screen is still a white blank screen below the What's on your mind as before. And it stated that way over night till today. No videos, but one post is showing. The rest are... ? Going to my profile page... Everything is there.

Posting history shows nothing. As if I never made the three video posts.

Say Whaaat? That's right, no edit, posting or anything in the history.

Hmmh did I just break Facebook?

Email notice says they have a video. Follow the link, Huston, we have a problem! But Facebook auto responder page says their aware and working on it.

But the next day, this morning. No change. It didn't happen according to Facebook history of my activity...  The time spent and videos uploaded just "Poof!" - gone!

9b) I noticed the freinds suggestions were just people from the area.. after deleting them all.  The next was the Admin of Facebook.. CEO or Head employee.. lol. Sorry, don't know yah girl. Delete.

10) 48hrs after my "A month on Facebook" post, in checking desktop mode of this browser. Hark! What's this? My music player is displaying properly. And works again. (Or it was, it seems that it depends on the mood of some hidden entity as to whether it does or doesn't)

The picture frames are lined up correctly for the display size. The posts are readable and pictures are back centered as they should be.

The main body border on the Home page isn't correct but the rest is doing just as it was written to do many, many moons ago when I first posted the blog design. Imagine that!

What!? You exclaim. Why that's rediculous, you must be imagining all this...
Yeah, I might find this a little over the top of I were reading it, that's why I screen shot things a couple days after making this post as you can see below... I did so because, it doesn't end here. But take a look at 5 different browsers and you may even notice something else is... Missing!

Interesting 48 hrs since the one post and action reaction thing going on here between the two posts I made huh?!

It gets better... Fast forward to 48hrs after making this post and when those above screen shots where made there's some things to note.

You'll notice the music player in the above screen shots is there in all mobile browsers being viewed in desktop mode. Some display the ad, some don't.

But there's something else missing. Something else I mentioned in my previous "A Month on Facebook" post. And one other thing with two of the screen shots from two browsers. Which brings us to point 11.

11) And this one is the one that tips the iceberg. In my Month on Facebook post I mentioned that Facebook didn't have a view counter. Or that you had to pay for one and that over to the left of this blog one could see a visitors counter. It's right there under the heading "Readers". You see it there in the screen shots? You don't! Yeah well, neither do I. It's gone. The code is still there and it should be there. So where it what happened to it? Why isn't it displaying? Hence I edited this in 48hrs after making this post. It disappeared 48hrs later. It was there when I made this post.

Either you're crazy, or I'm crazy or the damn thing isn't there in those screen shots. You decide.

There's also two other factors. You see the two browsers NOT displaying this blog properly after the 48hrs of initially making this post. The two that are not, I never used prior to check this blog display. I only did that during this edit, 48hrs after making this post. Only the ones I used prior, display it properly.

See for yourself, new browser versus browsers used to check this blog as if this edit.

The browser to the left is Opera mobile full. The browser to the right Edge mobile. Which did display properly from the get go. No changes other than the missing side bar items to date. And of that, only the visitor counter missing as of today.

So let's look at some possible causes for these changes.

A) It's a browser issue. Could be but that would mean an update to all the browsers used to correct it. None where updated. And two were not used until I edited this in. And browsers don't effect Google search engine listings now do they.

B) It could be a website error. True, but I didn't change any code? In fact, knowing the code was fine, I refused to even look at it.

Blogger, Facebook, Google Analytics, Google Search, in fact the entire Google development team could have read those 2 part I made and envoked a change in 24hrs. Facebook sending me a newn notice on privacy changes only after I mentioned the edit history in my post a couple days ago, true enough, that is a possibility. A far reaching possibility but a possibility none the less. But then, it would effect every browser, not just the ones I had used prior to this edit. It would include the browser I downloaded and installed just today and the additional one I used only just today to check display of the blog. But, it didn't.

C) It could be filtering by the mobile carrier or some other method. It's possible. But that would be arbitrary selection. Not just on the points I brought up in my posts. Another words, you might not see a picture here or there, refresh the page it will display or another might be missing or loading would be slow if packets were being filtered out.

This is too selective.

D) It could be coincidence. Yeah it could be. But I find it very hard pressed to say it is. There's too many variables going on and changes taking place to put it off to coincidence.

Besides, the funny thing about computers, coding etc etc. They only do what someone tells them to do. And I don't give a while lot of weight to coincidences when it comes to certain things. When it comes to certain things, there no such thing as coincidence. I believe this is one of them.

So what is the cause? I don't know. I have seen it before in various ways and mannerisms and I'll leave it at that. I'm not involved in the internet or coding these days or any other real world bullshit to speculate wisely enough to point fingers at the culprit. I can only present the facts

I'll let you conspiracy theorist figure out the who is who behind the curtain and the They's and Them's on this chain of events.

I've been dealing with this kind of stuff for so long... Both online and off. Yes, there's been plenty of coincidences that I would argue are not so coincidental since a certain time in my life. Too many in fact.

There was a time I actually did try to delve into who or what was behind it. I could see the players, I could see the moves they made. The pawns in play. But... I got bored with it and it was taking up precious time. You only have one life, let them waste there's on some bullshit car and mouse game is there way I ended up viewing things. Besides they're idiots whomever they are. Because it's all stupid shit. Fucking with someone is easy. That's kiddie shit. Shit I don't have time for.

Anyway, I thought you might get a kick out of all this.

In moving on, or attempting to.

Now to decide whether or not to change the blog mobile setting back the way it was.

Just kidding, I'll change it back but there are some aspects I do like about the generic mobile template Blogger provides.

Funny thing I'll mention before closing. Google warned me this blog wasn't mobile friendly due to text being so small.

This is what the editor looks like on mobile.

And don't enlarge it. I have a full HD screen that'll screenshot an HD image. But it's only 6" inches.

It's a bitch to post via mobile really. Once you zoom in, it's very difficult to navigate the side and top bar. If you can get there. But I manage. Didn't complain or send out warnings to Google..

Google owns Blogger. So for someone, or some entity to bitch and warn me when my code was correct from the start, it seems a little rude.

That's it for now all.
Till next time,
Stay creative, stay Happy.
Cheers...
