Wave Deformer plug-in for Cinema 4D

I was taking a look around at what's out there for Cinema 4D and not only did I hear C4D R16 has been released (Hurray!) but I ran into what looks to be a sweet little plug-in for C4D R14 and R15 by Johannes Kollender called Wave Deformer.

It's an adaptation in C++ of the original python source code called Ocean Waves by Vidar Nelson of Creative Tools (creativetools.se).

For further information on the original python code you can visit the Github page of Vidars python version here:  https://github.com/CreativeTools/ct-ocean-waves

From what I'm reading this new adaptation by Johannes Kollender has been released for about 4 months now. And worth adding to your C4D tool pouch from what I'm seeing.

Johannes states, "Wave Deformer is an implementation of the tessendorf wave as a deformer for Cinema 4D. It creates wave like motion on any polygon based object."

And according to Jim Thatcher over at CGChannel.com, "it offers better performance with high-poly geometry over the original python script."

Wave Deformer works in R14, R15 (32/64bit) on PC and R15 on MAC.

You can download Wave Deformer here.

And here is a video Johannes, the author of the plugin uploaded about it over at Vimeo.

Enjoy,
